MATTHEW BERNHARD, MD
A practicing radiologist since 2014
Dr. Bernhard is a board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologist specializing in diagnostic and interventional radiology. Dr. Bernhard earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He completed his residency and subsequent fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Prior to medical school, Dr. Bernhard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bernhard is board certified by the American Board of Radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in vascular and interventional radiology. He holds memberships in the Radiology Society of North America (RSNA), American College of Radiology (ACR), American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), Society of Interventional Oncology (SIO), and Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR).
His clinical interests include interventional oncology (including percutaneous ablation, chemoembolization (TACE), Y-90 radioembolization), venous thromboembolic disease, and prostate artery embolization (PAE) for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
In his free time, Dr. Bernhard enjoys traveling with his partner Christina, backpacking, squash, cooking, postmodern fiction, modern art, and live music. He is forever in search of the next great taco.
